Turkey Hunting & InsectXtreme®
Posted by Daniel Alexander on
Wild turkey season opens in the spring with hunters planning to find a sturdy tree to sit against, the best call to use and to sit as still as possible as that prize gobbler approaches.
Wild turkeys are known for their keen eyesight and will quickly run away if a hunter is spotted. Camouflage and stillness are primary considerations.
Sitting perfectly still can be an experience in itself, especially if mosquitoes, no-see-ums or ticks discover you. The hunter becomes the hunted.
Rapid Tick Increase Expected in Northeast, Mid-Atlantic States this Spring/Summer
Posted by Daniel Alexander on

A "Surge of Ticks" is expected in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic States Due to a Wet and Mild 2018 Winter.
As temperatures continue to rise, the tick population will likely continue to increase from last summer and fall as ticks make their way out after being able to survive through a mild and wet 2018 Winter.
To help prevent tick exposure the CDC recommends before you go outdoors - knowing where to expect ticks (where they live), treating or buying clothing and gear with products containing 0.5% Permethrin and using Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – registered insect repellents.
Since it's founding Anovotek has been a front runner in the development of chemistry applied to textiles for vector and other insect borne illnesses.
All of our Insect Xtreme line of clothing is treated with Skintex MR III micro-encapsulated Permithrin and is the only micro-encapsulated insect repellent approved by the EPA.
